Taxodium distichum

Swamp Cypress. A columnar tree which becomes columnar and ragged as it matures. It has fissured bark and its pale green foliage is narrowly lance-shaped. An interesting feature of this specimen tree is that in wet sites it will grow aerial roots at water level. They are late to come into leaf and to develop their autumn colour.

Grow in any moist or wet soil in full sun or partial shade. Prefers acid soil. It will reach a height of 20-40m and a spread of 6-9m.
