Meconopsis betonicifolia 'China Blue'

Tibetan Blue Poppy. A tuft forming perennial which has rosettes of hairy bluish-green leaves. In June and July, bowl-shaped, blue, purple-blue or white flowers, borne singly on bristly stalks are borne.

Grow in sheltered, partial shade in neutral to acid, moist, humus rich, but well-drained soil. Performs best in areas with cool, damp summers. It will reach a height of 1.5m and a spread of 50cm.

Meconopsis grandis 'Lingholm'

Himalayan Poppy. A clump-forming perennial which has rosettes of erect, toothed, mid- to dark green basal leaves. From Late May to July nodding, shallowly cup-shaped, deep blue flowers with yellow centres are borne.

Grow in sheltered, partial shade in neutral to acid, moist, humus rich, but well-drained soil. Performs best in areas with cool, damp summers. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 60cm.
