Platycodon grandiflorus

Balloon Flower. A compact, clump-forming perennial which has ovate to ovate-lance-shaped, toothed, bluish green leaves. In late summer, clusters of large, balloon-like buds open into bell-shaped, purple-blue flowers, which have darker blue veins and pointed tips to the petals.

Grow in deep, light, fertile, loamy, reliably moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 60cm and a spread of 30cm.
