Davidia involucrata

Dove Tree, Ghost tree, Handkerchief Tree. An upright tree which has smooth mid-grey bark and bright green heart shaped leaves with red stalks. In May it bears small white flowers which are surrounded by showy white bracts.

Grow in moist but well-drained soil, sheltered from strong winds in sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 15m and a spread of 10m.
