Eucalyptus gunnii

Cider Gum. A fast growing, dense, erect, evergreen tree which spreads with age. It has smooth whitish-green bark which peels in summer to reveal yellowish to greyish green new bark. The evergreen foliage is blue-green.

Grow in neutral to slightly acidic soil which doesn’t dry out in full sun. Shelter from drying, cold winds. Keep the tree hard pruned in late winter to keep the rounded juvenile foliage. If left to grow unchecked it will reach a height of 10-25m and a spread of 6-15m.

Eucalyptus pauciflora ssp. niphophila

Alpine Snow Gum. A tree with whitish grey bark shed annually in late summer, leaves grey-green when young followed by blue-green, adult leaves. Umbels of white to cream flowers are borne from April to July.
