Fatsia japonica

Japanese Aralia. A spreading, suckering, rounded, evergreen shrub with thick stems bearing hairless, 7- to 11-lobed, usually toothed, dark green leaves. In autumn, 5 petalled, creamy-white flowers are b0rne in long branched umbels, which are followed by small, spherical black fruit.

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or light dappled shade, with shelter from cold drying winds. It will reach a height and spread of 1.5-4m.

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in light dappled shade, with shelter from cold drying winds. It will reach a height and spread of 2.5m.
