Liquidambar styraciflua
Sweet Gum. A broadly conical tree which is grown for its glossy maple-like
foliage which turns crimson, purple, and orange in autumn. Young shoots have
corky wings. Deciduous.
Grow in moderately fertile, acid to neutral, well-drained soil in full sun to
get the best autumn colour. It will tolerate partial shade. It will grow to an
ultimate height of 25m and a spread of 12m.
