Ruscus ‘John Redmond’
Butchers Broom. A clump-forming sub-shrub
which spreads by rhizomes. It has upright shoots which have ovate, spine-tipped
glossy, dark green cladophylls. From late summer it bears rounded green berries
which turn bright red in winter.
Grow in any but waterlogged soil in sun,
partial or full shade. It will reach a height of 7cm and a spread of 1m.
